On Repeat: The day that she stands up for everything that she chose

I wish I had seen all of Caribou's set last month.

You ought to be glad that I did not post the song's official video, which involved some kind of wolf attack on a woman in the snow.

And this I just had to include because it proves my notion (from the further-back-but-not-too-far-back seats) that this arrangement of the lighting rig made the stage look like an eerie, fluorescent-lit office.

Walk out of her heart, walk out of her mind

My stomach feels small.

Lay the real thing on me

I had no idea that there was a not-Ziggy before there was a Ziggy, The Arnold Corns. I'm only fifteen minutes into the BBC 4 Story of Ziggy Stardust and I'm already in a wiki snit fit, all indignant that I didn't know this.

I need to find a reputable Bowie biography to read. And then read Angie's book after so I can tell what's dirt and what's mud.

I'm glad this never went anywhere so that the song could really grow up.

All the things I haven’t seen once the final curtain has been raised

This was my turn-it-up-until-my-downstairs-neighbor-(who never said anything)-says-something trip. I sat in my friend John's apartment and copied the lyrics from his lp sleeve. I had the cd and there must not have been lyrics included. Copied by hand into whatever journal of paralyzing angst I was filling up at the time.

It's funny how the words don't mean anything to me now. It's just a freekin amazing song, one worth the resulting ear bleeds.
